As Punkt. we talk a lot about work/life balance, focus and simplifying life, but we’re not immune to occasionally getting into a pickle ourselves, and that’s when it gets harder to practice what we preach.
Inspired by the best-seller The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up from the #1 New York Times bestselling author and lifestyle-guru Marie Kondo, we decided to begin at home: the Punkt. head-office in Lugano.
Like with most things, getting started was the hardest part… We tackled desk-mess first: paper clutter everywhere, dead batteries, stubby pencils, electronic bits and pieces, not to speak of the dust. Our first strike was to ruthlessly deploy the big black bags.
Getting rid of the obvious junk brought us an initial sense of achievement, and gave us space to decide what to do with what was left over.
The next step was putting everything either into storage or out on display. A great exercise for understanding what you actually want to keep and why.
Finally, it was cables-time! And yes, even though we released the ES 01 five years ago now, we still had a lot to learn. Not so much about the theory; more about putting it into practice. But it’s very simple:
