‘Tradition & Technology’
12-17 April 2016
Corso Magenta 24
After a very successful appearance last year, Punkt. will be returning to Milan to take part in the exhibition ‘A Matter of Perception: Tradition & Technology’, at the Palazzo Litta, hosted by Damn° Magazine and Mosca Partners within the extraordinary surroundings of the Palazzo Litta. The exhibition will be part of the Fuori Salone fringe event that fills the city centre during the Salone del Mobile trade fair.
This year Punkt. presents its new mobile phone and showcases outstanding work of students from the ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, Switzerland.
We will also be providing a comfortable and elegant terrace area where visitors can stop awhile and recharge their batteries. Phones and tablets too: Punkt.’s new, Italian-made USB multi-chargers will be laid out, ready to go.
Punkt. will again be in the portico within the courtyard of Palazzo Litta. The beauty of a previous age will provide a dramatic backdrop for the modern beauty of the Punkt. range, which is designed around modern simplicity – both in terms of understated elegance and as an alternative to the ever more complicated products on the market.
The Punkt. Design Terrace will be furnished with products designed by Jasper Morrison Morrison and will give visitors the chance to take a moment to relax, while making use of the complimentary phone-charging facilities. These will consist of Punkt. UC 01 USB multi-chargers, which were first presented at the event last year and are now starting to appear in shops. The product has received praise for its combining of practicality, power and design elegance, and Punkt. are pleased to have been able to be making it in Ceggia (VE), Italy.
Punkt. products will be available for purchase. But for anyone who feels like having a truly analogue experience, the Punkt. Library will be available for browsing. This is a range of books by authors writing about how modern technology is affecting us in ways we’re perhaps not fully aware of.
Punkt. will also be providing a space to display the work of students from the ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, Switzerland. The company has been working closely with the staff and
students of the Master Product Design programme, leading to the students creating prototypes that could potentially be developed into Punkt. products.
At the Fuori Salone event we will also be presenting our new mobile phone: the MP 01.
Designed to be used in conjunction with a smartphone, it is for people who want to get some rare downtime in the digital age. It makes calls. It sends texts. And it knows when to leave you alone. Displaying beautiful minimalism both inside and out, the MP 01 is provoking debate around the world as people start to question the new ‘always-on’ regime.
